PNWGFA Scholarship Application

  • ELIGIBILITY (*please note this important criteria*)
  • All Direct members in good standing with the Pacific Northwest Grain & Feed Association:
  • 1. Immediate family members of a Direct member.

    2. Employee and/or a legal dependent of a Direct member.

    3. Owner/Patrons, or their legal dependents, of a Direct member firm. Contact PNWGFA office to verify a PNWGFA Direct member.

    4. All candidates must have received a letter of acceptance or be enrolled in an accredited college, university or community college. Consideration will be given to, but not limited to students who have chosen a career in some area of agriculture, business, home economics or vocational education.

    5. Applicants may only be awarded a PNWGFA Scholarship once; previous winners not eligible again.

  • Application Procedure
  • The following must be submitted:

    1. Complete Scholarship Application

    2. *A letter of introduction and recommendation from a PNWGFA Direct Member in good standing.

  • Selection Process

    1. The scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, potential to succeed, demonstrated leadership, extracurricular accomplishments, work experience and an evaluation by a counselor or adviser.

    2. All recipients must enter school no later than the fall term following the announcement of the scholarship.

  • I. Student Information / Education & Career Goals (*all fields in this section are required)

  • Only will be contacted in the event of unable to contact applicant
  • II. Work Experience -- POINTS: 15

  • III Grade Point Average (High School & College) -- POINTS: 15

  • (Important Note: Base GPA on A=4.0. If scale is other than A=4.0, please convert to a 4.0 scale)
  • We certify that the below information is correct.
  • IV. (a.) Leadership Activities -- POINTS: 20

  • List Leadership activities and the level of participation in each (office held, assignments, awards, contests). These may include class offices, club activities, extracurricular student activities, civic organizations or church groups.
  • IV. (b.) Community Involvement -- POINTS: 20

    List a minimum of four other activities that were helpful in making you a more considerate, involved and contributing individual. Please include Activity and Year(s). (Do not duplicate items listed in section IV, a.)
  • V. Instructor's statement -- POINTS: 15

  • Please give the Instructor Statement to your advisor, instructor, or counselor; a recommendation on official letterhead is also acceptable.
  • Completed letters of recommendation needs to be received or postmarked April 2, 2019.

  • VI. Applicant's Statement -- POINTS: 15

  • VII. Signatures of Applicant and Parent/ Guardian

  • Students under 18 years old are responsible for obtaining the signatures of their parent/guardian. If you are 18 years or older, please check the box below. The signature form is available from pnwgfa.org, or click here to view.
  • VIII. PNWGFA Member Introduction & Recommendation (Required)

  • Please give the Member Recommendation Form to your PNWGFA Direct Member recommender; a recommendation on official letterhead is also acceptable.
  • Completed letters of recommendation need to be received or postmarked April 2, 2019.
