1.  28th Annual Country Elevator Council -- April 24 & 25, 2008: 
We have about 6 weeks before our 28th Annual CEC Meeting in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.  Below you will find some information on this event.  There will be more information in the next NewsBulletin on Tuesday, March 25th.  The Planning Committee and I are working on the Agenda and I will have the registration form finished soon.

Friday, April 25th
9:00 a.m. - Noon -- Presentations pick up again
Noon -- Lunch before everyone heads home for the weekend

w  Golf Information...We will be playing the Coeur d'Alene Resort golf course with the world famous floating green.  Our tee times start at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday the 24th.  There will be box lunches available at the golf course after our meetings wrap up.  Your Registration fee will pay for the meetings, lunch on Thursday, breakfast & lunch on Friday, green fees, cart & caddie for the tournament, as well as the Welcome Reception on Thursday.  You will be responsible for your own drinks on the golf course and tipping your caddie.

w  Welcome Reception...We will meet back at the Resort for our Welcome Reception, which will run from about 6:30 p.m. until about 8:00 p.m.  There will be light Hors d'Oeuvres and cocktails as we pass out the golf prizes.

2.  Scholarship Program is Underway!
It's time again to get started on our Scholarship Program.  Each year the PNWGFA offers four $1,000 Scholarships to our members employees or their children.  Follow this link for the Application Form for the current year.  Please distribute to any worthy candidates you might know.  Application Deadline...The application must be post marked by tax day...April 15th!  



3.  91st Annual Convention & Golf Tournament -- June 26 & 27, 2008:
We still have a few months before our Annual Convention, but there is limited room space, so you should plan to attend and make your reservation soon.  Campbell's Resort just made some major renovations and every room in our block will be newly finished.

w  Golf Information & Spouse Event...We will have two golf tournaments associated with this event (one on each day) and this year we will be bringing back the Spouse Event for the June Convention.  More information on the June Convention will come out as we get closer.

4.  USDA - Farm Bill Update
Quotes...
There is no new news on the farm bill, but the USDA updated their website last week with some interesting quotes.  In the last month or two there have been lots of people giving their opinion on the Farm Bill.  If you go to the USDA Website, you can see all the information that has been compiled there... from USA Today to the San Diego Union Tribune to Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.

Impact on Programs Without a New Farm Bill...The USDA also put out An Analysis that details the impact on USDA Programs if there is no new Farm Bill.


5.  Oregon Agricultural Alliance - Land Use Seminar
