Association News:

1.  Now Taking Nominations for 2008 Honorary Members
In June of 2007 we inducted in a lot of new Honorary Members, since then some people must have retired.  We are looking for the names of people from the industry who have retired from a management position and worked in the industry for 25 years.  If you have someone that should be added to the list of Honorary Members please contact the Association office today!  


2.  Notice From our President - Bud Riedner
The Pacific Northwest Grain & Feed Association is proud to announce the formation of "The PNWGFA Honored Alumni Fund".  This fund is being established to assist Honored Alumni in attending our Annual June Convention.  The Board of Directors has authorized a one time Pledge Drive to establish this fund.  All contributions will be recognized at the 91st Annual June Convention in Chelan, Washington and noted in the 2009 PNWGFA Annual Directory.  

The following pledge levels will apply:
$2,500.00 & Up............................Platinum
$1,500.00 - $2,499.99...........................Gold
$500.00 - $1,499.99.............................Silver
$200.00 - $499.99..............................Bronze

The PNWGFA Board of Directors are confident that our current membership will want to establish this find and our goal is $25,000.  Please give generously as a tribute to our past membership!

10.  FREE 2008 USDA Calendars to Educate About Avian Influenza
As part of its ongoing efforts to educate backyard poultry owners about what they can do to protect their birds against infectious poultry diseases such avian influenza (AI), the U.S. Department of Agriculture is offering FREE and informative calendars for 2008. These calendars, which feature full-color photos of poultry and other birds each month, contain useful information about protecting poultry from AI and include tips on what to do should poultry owners suspect that their birds are infected.
