2.  Planning for 2008 Warehousemen's Conference is Underway
The Planning Committee met in Spokane last Friday to discuss the 2008 Warehousemen's Conference scheduled for February 21st & 22nd in Spokane, Washington at the Davenport Hotel.  The Committee has mapped out some topics and speakers and they are targeting about 8 credits for this year's conference.  We still have some work to do before we can mail out the registration form and tentative agenda, but it should be coming your way in the next month.  Below is some vital information:

3.  Food & Drug Administration's Food Protection Plan
Our friends over at American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) just sent out some information on the FDA's Food Protection Plan.  It seems the FDA just completed a conference call on its Protection Plan that is embodied in the President's Interagency Working Group on Import Safety.  Follow this link for the Plan


4.  WRDA Bill Vetoed by President Bush
On November 2nd it was reported that President Bush vetoed the Water Resources Development Act of 2007.  For his complete remarks follow this link.


5.  House Overrides President's Veto on WRDA Bill
Our good friend Ginger Berry at Missouri Agribusiness Association (MO-AG), just sent us good news on the Water Resources Development Act of 2007.  Today the House acted on HR 1495 (WRDA 2007) by overriding the President's veto by a vote of 361-54.

The internet was a buzz with news of the impending action, but Ginger was the first to report it.  Follow this link for some information on the action taken today.


6.  Please VOTE for Your Representative on FSA County Committees
The Farm Service Agency has mailed ballots to farmers and ranchers throughout Washington state.  Farmers and ranchers have an opportunity to elect their representation on FSA County Committees.  This is a rare opportunity for local input on the implementation of federal farm programs.  Please vote in these elections by December 3, 2007 .  Follow this link for more information
