1.
Sorry for the Delay in Publishing this Issue
I hope you all had a WONDERFUL 4th of July! Due to Holiday
and meeting schedules this issue is a few days late and the next
issue will be a little early, it will go out on Monday (7/16) instead
of Tuesday (7/17). I will be back on Schedule for the following
NewsBulletin to be published on Tuesday, July 31st.
2. Auction for Back
Cover of Annual Directory
During the Welcome Reception at the Annual Convention we had two very generous companies competing for this Prominent
Advertising location. Kalama Export Company held the cover last
year and they were barely out bid this year. After several
rounds back and forth, the Back Cover will
go to CLD Pacific Grain, LLC. On behalf of the members
and the Board, I'd like to thank CLD Pacific Grain for their continued
support of the Association's efforts throughout the year!

the Annual Convention such a success. Thank you to our VERY

Very Much!!!!

The second Tournament was
held on Friday June 29th at Circling Raven Golf Course, this
tournament will not be forgotten easily! As we were getting the
reception started we had a SUDDEN wind storm that knocked down the
tent we were in. We didn't have much time to escape, but
thankfully no one was hurt in the excitement. Below are pictures
of the golfers before the weather turned bad and the tent after it was
torn from it's platform.

Carroll Erick Johnson
Passed
away with family present on the evening of July 1st, 2007,
following complications of a stroke. Survived in love and
faith by his wife Kaye Linda; his daughter Katie; his daughter
Corey; son Kip; son-in-law Matt; and extended Johnson and
Schlichting families. Carroll was born January 24, 1948 in
the farm town of Stanton, Iowa. After graduation from
college, he continued his passion for baseball, playing for
semi-pro teams throughout the Midwest. He married Kaye
Linda Schlichting in December of 1975, and started his career as
a salesman in the agricultural industry. This career spanned over 30
years, 25 states, and he was most recently named Regional Sales
Manager for West Central Co-op. Carroll's greatest job satisfaction
came in knowing his clients as friends. |
As a dedicated family
man, Carroll's most cherished moments were spent having barbecues on
the back porch, Johnson road trips to Kip's baseball games, and the
nightly together time spent with games and music around the kitchen
table. Carroll led by example in a household of faith. A
Memorial Service was held in his honor Friday, July 6th, 11:00 AM at
Colbert Presbyterian Church, 4211 E. Colbert Rd., Spokane. A
memorial has been set up in Carroll's honor, and donations will be
allocated by the family to a variety of charities in his name.
