Association News:

1.  We Need Your Help - Where would you like to go for the 90th Annual Membership Meeting?  

The PNWGFA Board of Directors met last week to work on several issues, one being the location for the Annual Convention in June.  The Board would like to hear from you.  We would like to see as many of you as possible, so the majority will rule on location.  

Please write back to me and let me know which of the following locations you would like us to visit this year.  (Give me your top two locations.)

Campbell's Resort, Lake Chelan, Washington

Coeur d'Alene Resort, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Davenport Hotel, Spokane, Washington

40th Annual Warehousemen's Conference & Trade Show
Mark your calendars NOW!!  We will be meeting at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Washington for our 40th Annual Warehousemen's Conference.  As always we will have a FABULOUS Spouse Event for the ladies to enjoy while the gentlemen are hard at work.  We will also feature a Trade Show for our members to talk with vendors.

3.  WRDA - Update
In an e-mail message this afternoon, Lisa P. Miller, Director of Media Relations with the National Waterways Conference wrote:  "The time of death of the Water Resources Development Act was 1:47 pm."  She suggests we get ready for next year.


4.  Washington Labor & Industries - Press Release
On Monday the Department of Labor & Industries issued a press release advising the construction industry to check all tower cranes for water and ice damage.  Last week there was considerable structural damage to a tower in Bellevue.  Follow this link for the entire Press Release.


5.  AFIA - OSHA Inspections Webcast
Our friends at American Feed Industry Association sent some information about their OSHA Inspections webcast.  They write:  "AFIA is offering its members and interested non-members the opportunity to participate in AFIA’s next Webcast Technical Symposium. Modeled after the AFIA’s FDA inspection webcast, this OSHA Inspection webcast will detail what to expect during an OSHA inspection, including the obligations and legislative authority of OSHA and responsibilities of regulated facilities."  Go to their website for more details www.afia.org.

A committee representing the various federal and state agencies is seeking to identify ways to stimulate cultural/historic/agricultural tourism in Idaho:  "Uniquely Idaho:  Rural Tourism and Business Development Partnership Opportunity - Request for Qualifications."  For more information follow this link
