1.  Idaho Golf Scramble & Trout Fry Dinner (September 14th)
Back by Popular Demand...We will be visiting Buhl, Idaho again for the Idaho Golf Scramble & Trout Fry Dinner!  Please join us for a fun filled afternoon of golf, camaraderie, a delicious dinner & great prizes!  During this GREAT event, you will have the opportunity to visit with the Association staff, as well as, its Board of Directors.

3.  WSDOT Recognized for Freight Transportation Planning
Good News from the Washington State Department of Transportation, on July 17th they sent out a press release outlining their achievement.  Please follow this link for the entire Press Release.


4.  Columbia River Channel Coalition
The Channel Coalition is gearing up for it's 6th Annual Legislative Boat Tour, which will take place on Monday, August 14th.  The Coalition will update the attendees (mostly local & federal legislators) on the status of the deepening project.  

This project is vital to the economy of our region and the livelihoods of our membership.  The Grain & Feed Association is a proud sponsor of this worthwhile event.  I will have pictures from the event posted in the next NewsBulletin.

.  More Good Work by Mercy Corps
As the violence in the Middle East rages on, Mercy Corps is preparing humanitarian aid deliveries to vulnerable Lebanese families displaced by the fighting.  They also continue to distribute food and relief items to impoverished Palestinian families and people with disabilities in the Gaza Strip.  Please follow this link if you would like more information on Mercy Corps and their efforts in the Middle East.


6.  Water Resources Development Act Passes the US Senate
Our good friends at the Pacific Northwest Waterways Association sent over some good news.  The WRDA bill passed the US Senate on July 19, 2006.  Follow this link for the update from Kristin Meira, Government Relations Director for PNWA.

Reminder About Elevator Inspectors
Reminder to Elevator Stakeholders & Interested Parties:  All elevator inspectors will be in training on August 7th - 11th, so inspections will not be available on those days.  Please visit the following link for more information on this and upcoming events.

Elevator Advisory Committee Meeting
The Elevator Advisory Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at the Tukwila Labor & Industries office.  The meeting is scheduled from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, with the Industry meeting to begin immediately after.  Follow this link for the full Agenda.
