Industry News:

Columbia River Bar Pilots Offer Tour

This from Captain Gary Lewin:  "The Columbia River Bar Pilots are proud of our ability and equipment which enables us to keep the river open in severe winter conditions.  No other river system in the world operates in similar conditions.  The new helicopter and pilot boat have facilitated our ability to work large grain vessels in the worst of situations.  We would like to extend an invitation to the members of PNWGFA to visit our facility, ride on the pilot boat or helicopter and learn about the efforts we make to keep the river viable year round.  If in the Astoria area please call Captain Lewin at (503) 440-2041 or call the office dispatch at (503) 325-2641.  We are happy for the opportunity to show the members of PNWGFA our effort to keep the Columbia River competitive."
